Fuji GFX50S Medium Format Camera – Hands On!

At Photokina I was lucky to meet some of my colleagues from Fuji who kindly showed me the new Medium format camera system, the GFX50S.

My first impression seeing the camera on the exhibition stand – behind glass – is that it looks big and heavy. Not so! Holding the camera and operating the functions was a breeze, its extremely lightweight, has a very clean and sharp edge to edge viewfinder and fits like a glove.

Focussing is fast and I took to the camera immediately. It’s a great camera and it just feels right. I expect Fuji will be extremely busy in the coming year when the camera arrives.

I’m grinning as I know the price! It’ll be interesting to see final results from this camera and of course how the new lenses  will perform. There are 6 expected, 23mm, 45mm, 63mm, 32-64mm, 110mm and 120mm Macro.

We have a few new cameras lined up for ‘in the field tests’. Meaning, that we will test and shoot using the latest cameras on a job with a photographer. Fuji, I’m waiting….  :0)
